The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has characterized the recent staffing controversy at the Eiffel Tower as a private matter between the involved parties. The incident occurred when female employees were reportedly removed from their posts during a visit by approximately 100 members of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS). This action triggered a labor strike among monument staff, resulting in the temporary closure of the landmark on Monday. The religious group had recently inaugurated its first major temple in the Paris suburbs, an event marked by a virtual appearance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal acknowledged the government's awareness of the temple's opening but maintained that the subsequent workplace dispute in Paris remains outside the purview of official government intervention.
