During the Security and History Dialogue 2026 conference held in Riyadh, Jameel Altheyabi, editor-in-chief of Okaz and supervisor general of Saudi Gazette, highlighted the necessity of a formal partnership between media organizations and security agencies. Altheyabi emphasized that these two sectors share a fundamental duty to safeguard society, bolster national stability, and enhance public awareness. He argued that such a collaboration must be built upon a foundation of mutual trust, transparent communication, and collective responsibility. Furthermore, Altheyabi pointed out that the proliferation of digital media and social networking platforms has significantly increased the complexity of the information landscape, making it more critical than ever for media and security professionals to work in tandem to maintain social cohesion and inform the public accurately.
