The defendant, referred to as Shy, stabbed her boyfriend following a dispute over his demands for sexual activity. The Court of Appeal determined that the initial ruling by the Johor Bahru High Court was excessively lenient and displayed undue sympathy toward the accused. This decision follows a review of the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing, with the judicial panel concluding that a more substantial sentence was necessary to reflect the gravity of the crime.
