The Malian armed forces have confirmed that the death toll from recent violent raids in the Menaka region has reached 54. Authorities discovered six additional bodies following the initial weekend assault, during which assailants on motorcycles targeted camps primarily housing the Daoussahak community. Military patrols located the victims in the Tagadayat area, where they were subsequently interred. Nine individuals who survived the violence were transported to Menaka for medical assistance. The military has identified the Sahel branch of the Islamic State as the group responsible for these attacks.
