The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a weather alert for coastal regions in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, predicting significant rainfall through November 3. A deep depression currently situated in the Southeast Bay of Bengal is expected to strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm. Forecasters anticipate the system will move west-northwest, potentially making landfall between Nellore and Narsapur by November 3 with wind speeds reaching up to 120 kmph. While coastal Andhra Pradesh should expect heavy to very heavy precipitation starting November 1, Tamil Nadu is likely to experience similar conditions by November 2. Authorities have advised fishermen to avoid maritime activities due to deteriorating sea conditions and the approaching storm. This development follows the recent impact of Cyclone Arnab, which struck the same region last week.
