The National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) has unveiled Operation QR Count 2026, a new initiative designed to enhance transparency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections. By utilizing a dedicated mobile application, residents equipped with Android devices can scan QR codes and headers from election returns displayed at polling stations. This data is then transmitted to Namfrel’s central office, where it is compared against official results to ensure accuracy. Namfrel National Chairman Lito Averia is urging the public to participate in this verification process, which covers voting centers, barangays, and municipalities across the region. This independent monitoring effort aims to bolster public trust in the electoral process by allowing citizens to directly contribute to the validation of transmitted vote counts.
