The animal rights organization PETA Asia has requested that Hong Kong residents avoid attending the European equestrian production Cavalluna, currently being held at the Kai Tak Arena. The group cited concerns regarding animal welfare, arguing that horses should not be utilized as performance props in environments featuring loud fireworks and intense lighting. The show, which features over 50 horses performing stunts and choreographed routines, is supported by the Hong Kong Jockey Club as a primary partner. While the Jockey Club has facilitated attendance for various community groups, including the elderly and youth, PETA maintains that such events subject sensitive animals to unnecessary stress and potential cruelty. The production, which began earlier this week, is scheduled to conclude this Sunday.
