Dr. Maryam bint Ali al-Misnad, Qatar's Minister of State for International Cooperation, held a meeting with Pierre Krahenbuhl, the Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), during his official visit to Doha. The discussion centered on enhancing the partnership between Qatar and the ICRC to bolster global humanitarian initiatives. Both officials explored strategies to improve the protection of civilians and those impacted by ongoing armed conflicts while ensuring adherence to international humanitarian law. Furthermore, the dialogue addressed the critical humanitarian crises currently unfolding in Gaza and Sudan. Both parties emphasized the urgent necessity of safeguarding non-combatants and aid workers, while also committing to collaborative efforts aimed at alleviating the distress of populations suffering due to regional instability and warfare.
