The Qatari Ministry of Finance disclosed a budget deficit of 21.2 billion riyals for the second quarter of 2026. Official figures indicate that total state revenues reached 25.6 billion riyals, against expenditures totaling 46.8 billion riyals. A breakdown of the spending reveals that 17.611 billion riyals were allocated to salaries and wages, while 19.662 billion riyals covered current expenditures. Additionally, major capital projects required 8.748 billion riyals, with minor capital costs totaling 858 million riyals. This latest financial data follows a deficit of 10.3 billion riyals recorded during the first quarter of the same year.
