Professional boxer Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez intends to proceed with his upcoming super middleweight title bout against Christian Mbilli in Riyadh on October 31. This decision follows recent violent attacks in the Saudi capital, including a strike on King Khalid International Airport that resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, as well as a separate incident attributed to Houthi forces. Turki Alalshikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority, confirmed the status of the event via social media. He stated that Alvarez reached out personally to express his commitment to the fight despite the current security climate in the region. The WBC super middleweight championship match remains scheduled as originally planned by the organizers.
