The Singaporean government has announced plans to distribute N95 masks to vulnerable citizens should the 24-hour Pollution Standards Index (PSI) surpass 200. This initiative aims to support individuals with limited access to protective gear, including the elderly, pregnant women, children, and those with specific medical conditions. To facilitate this, 24-hour vending machines will be installed at 37 locations, such as public transport hubs and social service centers. Eligible recipients include holders of Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation, and CHAS Blue or Orange cards, as well as those receiving ComCare assistance or holding Medical Fee Exemption Cards. These machines will supplement existing distribution efforts managed by People's Association grassroots organizations, with each collection providing two masks per eligible individual.
