A 73-year-old Singaporean man has been sentenced to 13.5 years in prison for the repeated sexual abuse of his daughter. The offenses occurred between 2021 and 2022, when the victim was between the ages of 10 and 13. The perpetrator coerced the child into silence by threatening that his imprisonment would prevent them from seeing each other again. The abuse was uncovered in 2024 after the victim disclosed the situation to a friend, leading to an intervention by the Child Protection System. The defendant pleaded guilty to four charges, including aggravated statutory rape and child sexual exploitation. Due to his age, he is exempt from corporal punishment. The identity of the victim, currently 15, remains protected by a gag order. Six additional charges were considered during the sentencing process.
