Construction has officially begun on a major data center complex located in the Başkent Organized Industrial Zone in Ankara. This project is a collaborative effort between Rönesans Holding and the international firm Digital Realty. Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that the total investment for the facility will reach $4.1 billion upon completion. The initiative aligns with Turkey's broader National Technology Initiative, which seeks to bolster digital sovereignty and cloud computing capabilities. The government has introduced the HIT-30 incentive program to attract high-tech investments, aiming for a national data center capacity of at least one gigawatt by 2030. Furthermore, the partnership between Rönesans and Digital Realty is expected to contribute 200 megawatts to this national target through planned developments in both Ankara and Istanbul, supporting the country's goal of becoming a prominent regional digital hub.
