Law enforcement officials in Istanbul conducted a series of coordinated raids on Tuesday, resulting in the detention of nine individuals suspected of maintaining financial ties to the Daesh terrorist organization. The operation followed an extensive investigation by counterterrorism units, which utilized data provided by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board to track suspicious monetary activities. Authorities discovered that the detainees had engaged in transactions with persons previously linked to extremist groups and had connections to active conflict regions. This action is part of a broader, ongoing effort by Turkish security forces to dismantle the logistical and funding infrastructure supporting terrorist entities. Recently, security agencies have intensified their focus on these networks, including a separate operation earlier this month that resulted in the neutralization of a suspected operative who had been planning an attack within the country.
