A Turkish court has ordered the imprisonment of two journalists and placed two others under house arrest. These legal actions follow investigations into reports and social media content concerning a financial scandal involving investment funds that emerged in mid-September. The ongoing controversy, which involves allegations of market manipulation, has created political strain for the ruling Justice and Development Party. A high-ranking party member recently stepped down amid scrutiny regarding her personal investment activities. Furthermore, the opposition party has publicly queried whether two government ministers benefited financially from the funds currently under investigation. Both Trade Minister Ömer Bolat and Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş have formally rejected these accusations of misconduct.
