Turkish gendarmerie forces have apprehended nine additional suspects as part of an ongoing investigation into the 2011 death of former intelligence official Kaşif Kozinoğlu. The latest group of detainees includes two media professionals and seven medical staff members, such as a physician, emergency technicians, and ambulance personnel who were present during the incident. This development follows a previous phase of the probe, raising the total number of people detained to 19. Kozinoğlu, a veteran member of the National Intelligence Organization, passed away while held in pretrial detention at the facility formerly known as Silivri Prison. The reopened inquiry seeks to clarify the circumstances surrounding his medical emergency and subsequent death, which has remained a subject of dispute for over a decade.
