The bodies of two Filipino sailors who perished during an incident involving the vessel MT SIDR in the Strait of Hormuz arrived in the Philippines on Thursday evening. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Department of Migrant Workers facilitated the repatriation process. OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan oversaw the arrival of the remains and conveyed sympathies to the grieving families. Following the reception, the bodies were prepared for transport to their respective homes in Laguna and Cebu. Government agencies are currently collaborating with the relevant manning firm to ensure the families receive necessary support and that the repatriation process is handled with dignity. The authorities remain committed to assisting the relatives of the deceased seafarers throughout this difficult period.
