Two women from the Kuki-Zo community, identified as 70-year-old Chonga Sitlhou and 28-year-old Kimneo Singson, were killed during a suspected militant assault in Leisangphai village, Manipur, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred while Sitlhou was gathering firewood. This violence follows two separate attacks on Sunday that resulted in the deaths of four other Kuki individuals in the same district. The Kuki-Zo Council has publicly denounced the killings, urging both state and central authorities to address the ongoing cycle of violence. The organization has specifically alleged that the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) and the Zeliangrong United Front were responsible for the attack, expressing alarm over the persistent targeting of civilians in the region.
