The United Arab Emirates is leveraging trade agreements to stimulate economic productivity, innovation, and sectoral development. Since 2021, the nation has actively pursued international partnerships to integrate its economy with major global markets. Beyond mere export competitiveness, the UAE views these deals as catalysts for foreign direct investment and private-sector collaboration. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) initiative has successfully connected the country with 40 nations across six continents, facilitating significant exchanges of goods, services, and resources. The recent signing of a CEPA with Canada marks a significant step in this ongoing strategy, which aims to transform initial market access into enduring, long-term economic advantages for all involved parties.
