Almaty and Astana are expected to remain the primary economic engines of Central Asia despite increasing development in neighboring cities like Tashkent and Bishkek. According to reports, the two major Kazakh cities possess a significant advantage due to their mature financial infrastructure and long-standing business ecosystems developed over many years. While other regional capitals are currently experiencing rapid growth and investing in future expansion, Almaty continues to function as the central hub for commerce and finance. Meanwhile, Astana has successfully consolidated its position as the primary center for political, institutional, and corporate activities. This division of roles has allowed both cities to maintain their regional leadership, leveraging decades of established growth to stay ahead of emerging competitors in the surrounding area.
