Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi has officially launched two significant desalination projects in the southern province of Bushehr. Located in Assaluyeh and Bonak, these facilities are intended to bolster water security for local populations and regional industrial sectors. The Assaluyeh plant, identified as the nation's first smart water treatment site, currently provides 1,000 cubic meters of water daily using reverse osmosis technology, with plans to reach a 5,000 cubic meter capacity. Officials emphasized that these projects were completed rapidly despite international sanctions and recent political rhetoric from the United States. During the inauguration, Aliabadi stated that such infrastructure developments demonstrate the country's commitment to self-sufficiency and economic resilience, asserting that external pressures will not impede national progress or the delivery of essential public services.
