This announcement followed a formal meeting between the Canadian leader and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The funding is intended to address urgent shortages of US-manufactured Patriot interceptors, which are essential for neutralizing Russian ballistic missile threats. The decision comes as Moscow intensifies its aerial operations against Ukrainian territory, with officials noting that existing defensive systems are under significant strain due to the frequency of these attacks. This support aims to bolster Ukraine's capacity to protect civilian populations from ongoing aerial bombardment.
