The United Arab Emirates government has officially conveyed its sympathies to the Philippines following a deadly maritime disaster. A passenger and cargo vessel, the M/V June Aster, caught fire on Wednesday evening while navigating approximately two kilometers off the coast of Palawan. The incident resulted in at least five confirmed fatalities, while rescue teams are currently searching for more than 80 individuals reported missing. In a formal statement released on Thursday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized its solidarity with the Philippine nation and offered support to the families affected by the tragedy. The UAE maintains strong ties with the Philippines, which is home to a significant portion of the expatriate workforce residing within the Emirates. Emergency responders continue to manage the aftermath of the blaze as the search and rescue operations proceed in the region.
