A male construction worker has passed away following a fatal fall while installing scaffolding in Hong Kong's Sham Shui Po district. Authorities were alerted on Friday morning after the individual was discovered on a podium located on Yu Chau Street. Despite being transported to Caritas Medical Centre for emergency treatment, the worker was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. This tragic event represents the 19th construction-related fatality in the city this year. Furthermore, it marks the second instance in 2024 involving truss-out platforms, highlighting ongoing safety concerns within the local building industry. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
