A formal charge sheet has been submitted to a Dhaka court detailing severe allegations of physical abuse against an 11-year-old domestic worker employed by Safiqur Rahman, the former managing director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The victim reported being locked in a bathroom, suffering burns from a hot spatula, having teeth broken with a pestle, and enduring chilli powder being rubbed into her eyes. The girl further alleged that the household members forced her to wear baggy clothing to hide physical injuries during visits from her father. Police have officially named Safiqur Rahman, his spouse Bithi Akter, and two other domestic staff members, Rupali Khatun and Sufia Begum, as defendants in the case. The court has formally accepted the charges filed by the investigating officer from the Uttara West police station.
