The sessions court in Kuala Lumpur has scheduled a 15-day trial for former armed forces chief Nizam Jaffar, beginning on July 26, 2027. Nizam is facing four separate charges related to criminal breach of trust, abuse of power, and the acceptance of bribes, with the total value of the alleged offenses exceeding RM3.75 million. Judge Rosli Ahmad finalized the hearing dates, which will span across July, August, and September of 2027, following a case mention where both prosecution and defense counsel reached an agreement. Deputy public prosecutor Nidzuwan Latip confirmed that all necessary evidentiary documents have been provided to the defense team. Furthermore, Nizam’s legal representative, Abdul Aziz Hamzah, indicated that the defense intends to submit a formal representation regarding the charges brought against the former official.
