The Indonesian government has issued a formal demand to Netflix, requiring the streaming giant to settle outstanding music royalty payments. According to the National Collective Management Organisation (LMKN), a state-backed body, the company has failed to provide these payments since it began operations in the country a decade ago. The total debt is estimated to be approximately 75 billion rupiah, equivalent to 4.3 million US dollars. Authorities have warned that the streaming service could face a total shutdown in the Indonesian market if the financial obligations remain unfulfilled. This move highlights the government's ongoing efforts to enforce local royalty regulations on international digital platforms operating within its jurisdiction.
