A four-year-old wild elephant was rescued on September 11 after becoming trapped in a disused septic pit located in the Huai Thap Mon subdistrict of Rayong. Authorities were alerted to the situation at 8:30 a.m. and initiated a collaborative rescue operation involving park rangers, local volunteers, and community leaders. To facilitate the animal's escape, a local official provided a backhoe to excavate a ramp along the edge of the pit. The operation concluded successfully at 9:29 a.m. when the elephant climbed out of the hole and returned to the nearby forest without sustaining any injuries. Officials from the Department of National Parks praised the rapid response and the effective cooperation between the community and wildlife conservation teams, noting that the timely reporting of the incident was crucial to the animal's safe recovery.
