A group of 17 Filipino maritime workers arrived back in Manila on Saturday following incidents in the Strait of Hormuz. On October 9, 2026, the vessels M/V Kazimah III and M/V Sinbad sustained damage from unidentified projectiles, prompting the repatriation of the crew. The returnees, comprising 16 individuals from the first ship and one from the second, landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport via Emirates and Etihad Airways flights. Officials from the Department of Migrant Workers, led by Officer-in-Charge Augusto San Diego III, were present at the terminal alongside representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the relevant manning agencies, Pacific Asia Shipping Corporation and Anglo-Eastern Crew Management Inc., to assist the arriving personnel.
