According to reports from Yemeni authorities, the Houthi movement has successfully occupied the Red Sea port city of Mocha. This strategic location is situated less than 50 miles from the Beb al-Mandeb Strait, a critical maritime chokepoint. The group, which maintains ties to Iran, reportedly established control over the coastal city, as confirmed by officials speaking to Reuters on Thursday. The development marks a significant shift in the ongoing conflict within the region, given the port's proximity to vital international shipping lanes.
