Forensic analysis conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department in Dhaka has established a connection between two suspects, Siddhartha Das and Mugdha Das, and the homicide of four family members in Rangpur. Investigators recovered biological evidence from the crime scene at Machhuapara, including a date seed, a cucumber slice, and a cigarette butt, which contained DNA profiles matching the accused. Furthermore, genetic material belonging to Mugdha Das was discovered on a towel used to strangle victim Pritilata Chakraborty. The investigation, which centers on the death of retired educator Ganapati Chakraborty and his relatives, is being handled by the Detective Branch of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police. Inspector Jinnat Ali confirmed that these laboratory results are now part of the official case file, providing significant scientific backing to the ongoing murder inquiry.
