The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan has confirmed the extradition of a national from Russia who is accused of orchestrating a large-scale drug trafficking operation. Authorities allege that the suspect established a criminal network in 2021, recruiting individuals to manufacture and distribute mephedrone across Almaty and other regions. The operation, which utilized Telegram for remote coordination, involved various roles including production, packaging, and logistics. In 2024, the group established multiple clandestine laboratories under the suspect's direction. The investigation revealed that two members of the criminal organization died due to severe chemical poisoning while working at one of these illicit production sites. The suspect now faces legal proceedings in Kazakhstan for his alleged role in leading the group and facilitating the production of psychotropic substances.
