The 1101st Infantry Brigade has implemented a comprehensive lockdown across Basilan province in response to two consecutive roadside attacks targeting military transport vehicles. Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Frederick Sales confirmed that security measures have been intensified after an ambush on Thursday evening left one soldier dead and over a dozen others wounded. The incident occurred as troops from the 45th Infantry Battalion were traveling from the Lamitan City port in tactical trucks. In light of the violence, attributed to a group led by Saddam Saddick, military units have been instructed to heighten vigilance, improve force protection protocols, and reassess standard operating procedures for the movement of personnel and supplies. Authorities are currently conducting a large-scale joint operation involving both police and military forces to locate the perpetrators responsible for the assaults.
